Victrix Match Report - May 11

Running the standard build: gus & phatty on wars, tae ranger, tap mes, lynn ele, jms & neo backline, tzuul flagger.

Battery Powered Best Friend [Vibe] +3

About rank 50, running 2 mindblast eles (one lifebond, one draw condi) and some other standard stuff. Initially we ran them around on the split taking out a few NPCs, having a fairly easy time because they lacked snares. Collapsed on the main team and forced a bunch of kills.

Continued like that until VoD at which point we had almost all their NPCs dead. Tae and I threatened the VoD gank so they had to leave a monk back, wiped their main team and finished the game.

We Card [ID] +2

Rank ~130, they were playing open ladder between AT matches when their opponent forfeited. 2 wars, 2 rangers, mesmer, 2 monks, water ele flagger on isle of solitude. Initially fought 8v8 but their NR and constant broadhead daze was strong enough to push us back, and we couldn't quite play offensively enough to drop targets. Split most of the rest of the match, they defended pretty well but lost a few NPCs.

At VoD we destroyed their NPCs at the flagstand and fended off a few last-ditch gank attempts, at which point they resigned out to go play their next AT match.

Victory On Demand [VoD] +2

Grackis's guild rank ~90, running 3 hexers, mel dervish, SP sin, monk flagger. We split them around for the first 15 mins, taking out all their NPCs but getting quite some DP on our split chars (very laggy game, new build available ). Turtled for the last 5 mins and kept most of our NPCs up.

At VoD they split up a bit, but kept 5-6 people right in the path of our NPCs and our main team-- they exploded. Dropped back into base and pushed out / killed their gankers, then wiped their main team again as they went straight into our NPCs at the flagstand to get sandwiched.

Thx to Phatty for guesting and Izzy for joining our guild

The observer matches got wiped due to the new build last night.

Admin Isaiah showed up in our guild hall, bearing the SoF tag, and briefly chatted with us in local and magical purple text. Basically he was polling guilds to find out why 90% of guilds are forfeiting in the tournaments.

Wow...that must have been kind of neat... So why are 90% of guilds forfeiting in tournaments?

Performance anxiety. Clearly they're not getting the "self-help" emails.

Have you ever tried ANet customer service?
I bet they have a first line, second line, etc.
Where Izzy is like the 10th line. So I wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't get the info...

Am I even allowed to post here?

You know, I find that GvG builds just fascinate me, because you never see anything like them in RA or AB. I wish that rangers played a larger part (if only slightly). I would like to GvG, but I have enough problems killing some of the people in AB, and I have found recently my RA skills have gone down the toilet, so maybe that is a dream for another time.

90% of guilds just giving up? That is odd....to say the least....maybe they realize they are outmatched and just want to get to their next match?

Or they've realized that the idea of 'skill' is tossed out the window.

People call it Build Wars for a reason; Builds > Skill sadly.

I know that's why I quit. Well, and Arya's constant nagging to cuddle

"No" means many things to Arya... it just doesn't mean the same thing to him as the rest of us normal people. Have you added Tap to your list of women to womanize now, Arya?

You shouldn't pick on Arya, he is after all a master linguist, and is quite smooth on the dance floor!
