Application: Crystal Measure

1. Browsing for guilds. Looking for mature drama-free. Also played quite a bit of GW1 myself, thought it would be nice to join a guild with other GW1 vets.
2. 29, CST
3. A bit of fps, a lot of rts, and a ton of mmorpg/action rpg.
4. Have HoT. Have done some WvW in the past, but never been a fan of pvp in general. 8 level 80s, full ascended on main, partial ascended or full exotic on others. Mostly do fractal dailies and occasionally dungeons.
5. Currently on Eredon Terrace. Comfortable with my current server.
6. No substantial forum contribution.
7. Logical, methodical, and cautious. Not particularly chatty, but usually hang out in ts/vent. Very experienced with many aspects of the game, and frequently solo dungeon/fractal content to strengthen my skills. Great with builds. Don't mind helping. Like to do more with less. Love a good challenge.
8. Crystal Measure - Measure.6174
9. "Yes, yes of course I have it installed". Have mic as well.

Hello there!
Once our officers have a chance to take a look at this to make sure you've dotted all your 'I's and crossed all your 'T's we'll be able to move forward. (The 'T's are very important...) We'll have an update for you momentarily. In the meantime welcome to the forums.

It is my pleasure to inform you that the council has reviewed your application and has deemed you NOT suspicious! You have been sent an in game invite so we can begin in game trialing which is the part of the show where we get to know you through in game interactions in order to verify that you are INDEED an adult human and are not in fact a bag of ferrets with a stolen laptop. You are free to move about the cabin and get to know everyone in your new family. Make yourself comfortable in our cozy forums and in game guild chat. Welcome aboard!

Now let me ask you a question:

B minor or D# minor?

A challenge! I do not back away from those.
As Im not versed in the musicnotes, this one was a tricky one to answer.
Im a big fan of music, mostly grown up with pop and rock, and now also taking in the occasional dance, r&b , americana/folk and soul.
Think band/performers like Queen, The Killers, Editors, Sam Cooke, The Cat Empire, Major Lazer, The Jayhawks, The Band, The Opposites and many more. Quite diverse one could say.

With this background, I looked up some guitar versions of these notes on youutube to get a feeling of the choice of the question.
That said, to give an answer to this question: B minor.

I enjoyed the soft sound compared to the sharper D# minor.

As you seem to be a music enthousiast, maybe you can explain a bit more about your own preferences?

You're right, I'm a big fan of music theory. I'm an amateur pianist, and those 2 keys are a couple of favorites I like to improvise in. B minor is the key of patience and acceptance, whereas D# minor is known as a haunting, phantasmal key. As far as my taste in music, I'd say that aside from old childhood favorites, I'm into genres of ambient, new age, traditional, folk, classical, and game soundtrack.

I'm also into ambient and new age to a large extent. What are some of your favorites?

The soma.fm station DroneZone is my favorite for ambient tunes. New age favorites include albums by Enya, Enigma, Deep Forest, and Delerium.

I have all the releases by the artists you listed for New Age. Some of the older Delerium is a bit out of the New Age genre and takes a bit to get used to. If you like those groups you should definitely check out Conjure One and Balligomingo both are in the Delerium/Enigma type.

I'll have to try out DroneZone and see what it's like. My main Ambient/Electronic is Tangerine Dream.

Yea I also have some Tangerine Dream albums. As far as the DroneZone, you can stream that directly from the website, from iTunes radio, and from other music applications that offer internet radio. And thanks, I'll have to give those 2 suggested artists a try.

I'm going to have to take a break from the game for an indefinite period of time. I fully understand if you choose not to accept me into full membership status. However, I hope that this would not be a permanent decision, and that I may yet be eligible for membership at such time as I become active again. I apologize for the timing. I'll await further word of how you wish to handle the membership situation. Thanks for your time.
