Which healing skill do you use?

OK server crash or something so I thought I'd make this poll.

The healing skill is always something to ponder and I was wondering if there is a consensus on which is best.

Obviously there are racial skills too and if you use one of those explain why.

Also interested in why you use the skill that you do?

I am currently on healing signet as really don't need to be very active with it. Leave it and let it heal and if I get low use it for a burst.

On my human warrior using valkyrie gear I use signet as I found it nice for the constant regen along with the healing shouts I use on him. On my zerk warrior I use healing surge as he uses greatsword and his adrenaline is always full so I get a good heal from it. It really depends on your build and where you are playing.

My zerk Warrior uses healing surge because adrenaline is pretty much always full. My hammer/shout warrior mostly used signet, because i used Adrenaline when full, and Had plenty of condition removal with shouts. For PvP or WvW i generally switch out to Mending for the condition removal if i think i'll need it.

I was thinking most people would be using one build due to the cost of respecing

You pay for the respecing of traits or have a general setup

Most people will stick to one trait setup but can (and should) be swapping utility skills around pretty much on a per-fight basis, just because a build has favoured utlities doesn't mean you shouldn't swap in more useful skills as and when they present themselves (play Mesmer in dungeons and you learn this very quickly).

As far as the heal skill goes, I pretty much only use Healing Surge. I hit my heal pretty much on cooldown and as Bunter mentioned, the Greatsword/AxeMace build relies on full adrenaline permanently meaning Healing Surge gives the highest amount of healing. It's also useful for when you get downed, since you can revive/rally and hit Surge immediately to get your adrenaline back to full and resume highest damage.

Personally I find the passive heal on Healing Signet to be insufficient for any high level content, you're either going to take large damage and therefore need a burst heal (which from Healing Signet is way too low) or take no damage at all therefore the passive is wasted.

Well to be honest part of the reason for the poll is to get ideas on the warrior I am levelling

I've done both the Sig and Surge, though on reading this I should look into Mending in appropriate situations more often.

I'm terrible at creating builds, so which I use depends a great deal on what builds I find to play with. I respec traits probably once every other month or so -- more or less because I really want to try this build or that build. Until I settle into one I really like and buy suitable armor/runes to enhance.

As for PvE content all the way to 80, I ran the Signet. Its the "I don't need to pay attention to that, thanks" quality of the heal over time that I liked. I discovered pretty quick that its awful in dungeons and, as said above, high level content.

So, I'm working on one of the Great sword builds right now -- which means Surge is my best bet.
